The companys story begins in 19th century Germany, with the vision and passion of one hairdresser, Franz Ströher. Wella comes from the German word Welle, which means golf. The underlying idea behind the well-known brand name is that everyone can have beautiful wavy hair. Wella Professionals started getting bigger and bigger, after the well-known permanent liquid and fixation fluids, the brand also came with hair care products on the market. Wella Professionals was one of the first brands to market a care hair balm that protected and nourished hair.
